Nigerian actor Adeniyi Johnson has issued a public warning about an individual based in the UK who has been impersonating him online and attempting to scam unsuspecting people. The 48-year-old Nollywood star took to his Instagram page on Tuesday to alert his followers about the fraudulent activities of the scammer, who has been reaching out to people with fake business proposals while using Johnson’s name.

Johnson shared a screenshot of a conversation with the suspected scammer, distancing himself from any involvement with the individual. He made it clear that he had no connection to the person and that the business proposals being sent were completely fake.
“SCAM ALERT!!! … I DO NOT KNOW THIS PERSON OR REPRESENT WHATEVER HE OR SHE STANDS FOR!!! NEVER USED THIS NUMBER… AND FOR NOW I HAVE NO MANAGER OR PERSONAL ASSISTANT!!!” Johnson wrote in the post.
He further advised the public to ignore any business proposals or chats originating from the impersonator, emphasizing that the individual’s actions were entirely fraudulent.
“PLEASE IGNORE CHATS OR BUSINESS PROPOSALS FROM HIM OR HER!! I DO NOT KNOW HIM OR HER!!!” Johnson warned his followers.
Actor Calls for Action: Public Should Report the Scammer
In his post, Johnson also urged his followers to take action by reporting the phone number being used by the impersonator. He expressed concern that the scam could potentially harm his reputation and career. He encouraged people to flood the impersonator’s number with calls and to report it to the relevant authorities.
“PLEASE LET’S FRUSTRATE THIS NUMBER WITH CALLS AND REPORT IT AS WELL!!! OUR NAME NO GO SPOIL OOO,” the actor added in his post, urging his fans to help him prevent further damage.
