Nigerian singer Adekunle Kosoko, popularly known as Adekunle Gold, has opened up about his deliberate choice to avoid conflict and unnecessary drama in his daily life, revealing a side of him fans rarely see.
In a video shared on X by #OlamideOfficial on Thursday, the ‘Orente’ crooner explained that his aversion to trouble is rooted in self-awareness and a desire to preserve peace of mind.
“Some of us, we just don’t like trouble. In fact, I don’t want to be near it, I just want to live,” Adekunle Gold stated emphatically.
The singer said that his temperament makes him conscious of how he reacts in tense situations. Rather than escalate conflicts, he prefers to step away entirely.
“Me, I know myself. My mouth is not good at all. Anybody that knows me, my mouth is not good. So, I don’t even want to say anything out of regret, so I’d rather just step away,” he confessed.
Adekunle Gold was quick to clarify that choosing to walk away from a heated situation does not mean weakness or an inability to defend himself when necessary. He also posed a reflective question for those who thrive on confrontation:
“What is your mind like? Why do you not like peace? Why do you not like peace of mind? Why don’t you just walk away?”
