Manchester United coach Ruben Amorim says he hopes to manage the club for the next 20 years, even after a tough start to his job.

Amorim took over from Erik ten Hag in November but only managed seven wins in 27 Premier League games. United ended the season in 15th place — their worst league finish in over 50 years.

Speaking to ESPN, the Portuguese manager said: “I want to stay for 20 years. That’s my goal, and I really believe it’s possible. I’ve been lucky throughout my coaching career, and I hope to stay here for many more years.”

He admitted last season didn’t go well but said he’s ready to try again.

“I know I didn’t succeed last year, but I’m ready to start again. Results matter the most — we all know that,” he said.

Still, Amorim believes Manchester United can turn things around.

“I have no doubt we’ll succeed,” he added. “Some things money can’t buy — and this club has those things: a strong history, loyal fans, and yes, financial power. We have money, even without Champions League football.”
