Anambra Declares Work-Free Friday Ahead of Governorship Poll

The Anambra State Government has officially declared this Friday a work-free day for all civil servants, with the announcement issued by 

Head of Service Mrs Theodora Igwegbe in Awka.

Governor Chukwuma Soludo approved the measure to ensure that state employees have the time and freedom to travel and participate in the upcoming governorship election. The HOS emphasised that active participation of civil servants in the electoral process is a critical contribution to good governance and democracy.

All political appointees, permanent secretaries and heads of ministries, departments and agencies have been instructed to inform their staff and ensure full compliance.
