Ariana Grande has announced plans to step away from public-facing work after completing her ongoing Eternal Sunshine Tour.
The American singer and actress will conclude the tour in London on September 1 before taking what her representative described as a well-deserved break.
Her team said the decision followed years of intense public attention and continued scrutiny surrounding her appearance.
“Ariana will be taking a step back from visibility after she completes the Eternal Sunshine Tour,” her spokesperson said.
The representative added that Grande wanted to finish the tour “healthily and happily” before temporarily withdrawing from public appearances and other major commitments.
Ariana Grande withdraws from West End production
Grande has also pulled out of the forthcoming West End production of Sunday in the Park with George.
She was expected to star alongside her Wicked co-star Jonathan Bailey in the London musical.
The producers, Empire Street Productions, confirmed her withdrawal and expressed support for the decision.
They said the production would still open at the Barbican in summer 2027, with casting details to be announced later.
Grande’s spokesperson described the Eternal Sunshine Tour as a rewarding experience, saying the singer had enjoyed performing and connecting with her fans.
The 33-year-old has repeatedly spoken against public commentary about her body and warned against making assumptions about a person’s health based on appearance.
Earlier this year, Grande admitted that taking a career break could be beneficial after spending much of the past 15 years working continuously in music, television and film.
She said she hoped to achieve greater balance in the next phase of her career.
The duration of Grande’s planned break has not been disclosed.
