Ariana Grande has publicly criticised Donald Trump’s campaign team after her music was used in a controversial TikTok video discussing transgender issues.
The singer reacted after Team Trump’s official TikTok account used her 2024 song We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love) alongside footage of Trump at a political rally.
The video addressed debates around transgender participation in sports and used lyrics from Grande’s song to support its message.
Grande responded directly after discovering the post, telling the account:
“Never use my music again.”
She also added: “Your truth is false.”

The latest dispute is not the first time Grande has pushed back against her songs being used in Trump-related content.
Earlier this year, she criticised the White House after another one of her songs appeared in a video connected to immigration enforcement.
Grande has consistently expressed support for LGBTQ+ causes and previously backed Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris during the 2024 election cycle.
Sources close to the singer said her record label was working to remove her music from the campaign video.
Meanwhile, people close to Trump’s team said the post was created by the campaign’s social media operation and was not published by Trump himself or the White House.
The disagreement has renewed debate over whether artists should have control over how their music is used in political messaging.
