Arsenal have started talks with Jurrien Timber over a new contract following his strong return from injury.
The 24-year-old Dutch defender joined the Gunners from Ajax in 2023 for £34.4m but missed almost all of his first season after suffering a serious knee injury on the opening day against Nottingham Forest.
He came back last season to play 51 games and has now established himself as Mikel Arteta’s first-choice right-back. His form this season has further proved his value to the team.
According to BBC Sport, discussions are at an early stage, but both the club and Timber are keen to reach an agreement to extend his stay beyond 2028.
Arsenal are also holding talks with Bukayo Saka over a new long-term deal, with confidence growing that the England international will sign.
