Nigerian music star Asake’s hit single “Remember” has officially become the most-streamed song ever on Spotify in Nigeria, according to data released as the platform marks its five-year anniversary in the country. The track leads a list of the most-played songs of all time by Nigerian listeners on Spotify, reflecting its massive popularity across the nation.
Spotify’s ranking places Remember at number one, followed by Ayo Maff & Fireboy DML’s “Dealer,” Fido’s “Awolowo,” Wizkid’s “Kese (Dance),” and another Asake track, “Lonely at the Top,” rounding out the top five most-streamed songs in Nigeria’s streaming history.
The milestone highlights Asake’s dominance in Nigeria’s contemporary music scene. Alongside “Remember,” several of his songs feature prominently on Spotify’s all-time list, underlining how consistently his music resonates with listeners both at home and abroad.
Spotify launched its service in Nigeria in February 2021, and since then streaming activity particularly for Afrobeats and local music has surged dramatically, with Nigerian playlists and streams growing rapidly year over year.
