England women’s national team coach, Sarina Wiegman, has jokingly asked Afrobeats star Burna Boy to join her for a dance after she was named Coach of the Year (Women) at the 2025 Ballon d’Or ceremony in Paris.
Wiegman, who guided the Lionesses to their Euro 2025 triumph in Switzerland, thanked her players, staff, and family during her acceptance speech before adding a playful note.
“Let’s celebrate our successes too, and if Burna Boy is around, maybe we could do a little bit of dancing too,” she said to applause.
Burna Boy responded on X (formerly Twitter), saying:
“haha, I’m up for it Sarina! A huge congrats to you and the team #Lionesses.”
The exchange has excited fans online and brought back memories of the Lionesses’ victory parade at Buckingham Palace, where Burna Boy performed live — a moment Wiegman has often described as special since she considers him her favourite artist.
