Big Brother has placed 23 housemates on a fake eviction list in the ongoing BBNaija Season 11 reality show.
Chimsom Chuka, who emerged as the new Head of House, is the only contestant exempted from the supposed eviction exercise.
The unexpected development came on Monday, shortly after the housemates completed the Head of House games.
Biggie instructed each contestant to nominate two housemates for possible eviction. They were prohibited from nominating Chimsom because of the immunity attached to his position as Head of House.
The contestants were also warned not to discuss their nominations with anyone in the house. Big Brother stated that anyone caught revealing details of the process would face punishment.
Unknown to the housemates, however, no contestant will be evicted this week.
Viewers were informed of the development after the nomination process had ended, while the housemates were deliberately kept in the dark.
Biggie subsequently announced that all the contestants, except Chimsom, had been nominated for possible eviction.
The fake eviction is expected to create tension in the house as the affected contestants remain uncertain about their fate.
Biggie introduces ‘The Gambit’
Big Brother also unveiled a new twist known as “The Gambit,” which will give one male and one female housemate a special status in the competition.
Viewers will vote later in the week to select the two contestants.
The chosen male and female housemates will be allowed to remain in the BBNaija house until the end of the show. They will continue to participate in games and sponsored tasks and will also be eligible to win prizes.
However, they will no longer be permitted to compete for the season’s grand prize.
According to Biggie, the two contestants will remain in the house as male and female representatives. They must continue to obey all house rules despite being removed from the race for the ultimate prize.
The new arrangement means that the selected contestants will be guaranteed a place in the house until the finale but will have no chance of emerging as the winner.
This year’s BBNaija winner will receive a record-breaking grand prize of N160 million, the biggest reward offered since the reality show made its debut in 2006.
