Former BBNaija star Pere Egbi has revealed that one of his friends has taken their own life due to cyberbullying. In a post on his X handle, Pere expressed his grief, writing, “I lost a friend today due to online bullying. Committed suicide. Smh. RIP champ. It is well.”
The actor did not specify where the incident occurred. This news comes after Pere recently sparked controversy with comments comparing Nollywood to the South African film industry.
He emphasised that Nigeria’s film industry still has a lot to learn from its South African counterpart.
Pere has acted in and produced a handful of Nollywood and international movies such as Gem of the Rain Forest, Pound of Flesh, and Blood Vessel.
