Cryptocurrency entrepreneur Linus Williams Ifejirika, popularly known as Blord, has been remanded in custody at the Kuje Correctional Centre following his arraignment before a Federal High Court in Abuja.

The court ordered that he remain in custody for 26 days pending further proceedings, meaning he will spend the Easter period behind bars.

Blord is facing multiple charges, including criminal conspiracy, impersonation, and the alleged unauthorised use of the identity of social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan.

The case stems from accusations that Blord used VeryDarkMan’s image and identity without consent to promote business ventures. According to the activist, Blord allegedly created promotional materials, including billboards and flyers, falsely claiming endorsement deals worth hundreds of millions of naira.

Reacting to the development, VeryDarkMan shared a video expressing satisfaction with the court’s decision, stating that Blord would remain in prison for the duration of the remand. His reaction, however, sparked mixed responses online, with some praising the move while others criticised the celebration of another person’s detention.

Meanwhile, activist Omoyele Sowore reportedly condemned the public celebration of the arrest and indicated plans to intervene in the matter.

The case has been adjourned, with further hearings expected later in April as legal proceedings continue
