May Agbamuche-Mbu, a National Commissioner at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has taken over as the Acting Chairman of the Commission.
She assumed the position after Professor Mahmood Yakubu handed over his duties on Tuesday as he begins his terminal leave.
The short handover ceremony was held at the INEC headquarters in Abuja during a meeting with Resident Electoral Commissioners.
Yakubu, who has been INEC Chairman since 2015, is stepping aside as his tenure nears its end.
