Bayern Munich have confirmed they are in discussions with Harry Kane over a possible contract extension.
The club’s sporting director, Max Eberl, disclosed this on Tuesday, admitting that talks are already underway with the England captain.
Kane joined the German champions from Tottenham Hotspur in August 2023 on a four-year deal reportedly worth €100m, ending his long stay in the Premier League.
Since his arrival in Munich, the striker has been in devastating form, scoring 119 goals and providing 30 assists in 126 appearances across all competitions.
“We’re talking to Harry, we’re talking,” Eberl said on the sidelines of a Bundesliga event in Frankfurt.
“Everyone knows that at some point a decision has to be made.”
Kane had earlier hinted at a long-term stay in Germany, admitting in October that he could “definitely” see himself remaining at Bayern, while his desire to return to the Premier League had “gone down a little bit”.
This season, the 32-year-old has scored 34 goals in 30 matches for Vincent Kompany’s side, including 21 goals in 19 Bundesliga games, as he targets Robert Lewandowski’s record of 41 league goals in a single season.
Kane has also played a key role in Bayern’s Champions League campaign, helping the club sit second in their group with one game remaining.
Bayern chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen said there was no urgency over the talks, stressing that Kane and his family are comfortable in Munich.
“Harry has great confidence in us and he feels settled here. His family are settled as well, so there is absolutely no reason to rush,” Dreesen said.
