DR Congo have reached the final stage of the CAF World Cup play-offs after a 1-0 win over Cameroon on Thursday.

It was a tight game with few clear chances for both teams. The breakthrough finally came in the second half when captain Chancel Mbemba reacted quickly inside the box and scored the only goal of the match.

Cameroon tried to fight back in the closing minutes, but DR Congo stayed solid in defence and held on to their lead.

With this victory, DR Congo will now face Nigeria in the play-off final. The winner of that match will move on to the inter-confederation play-offs for a chance to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
