American rapper Cardi B has secured a fresh $60,000 payment agreement from gossip blogger Tasha K in the latest twist of their long-running defamation battle.
Tasha K, whose real name is Latasha Kebe, agreed to pay the Grammy-winning rapper after Cardi accused her of violating a previous legal ruling and making fresh disparaging posts online.
The new agreement was filed in court on Tuesday and was reached to avoid the cost, delay and uncertainty of further litigation.
The dispute is tied to Cardi B’s $4 million defamation victory against the blogger in 2022.
After that judgment, Cardi, whose real name is Belcalis Almánzar, agreed to delay efforts to collect the full amount on the condition that Tasha K would stop insulting or disparaging her and her family.
But Cardi’s lawyers later accused the blogger of breaking that agreement through recent social media posts involving her estranged husband, Offset, and NFL player Stefon Diggs.
The rapper filed a motion in April asking the court to impose “economically painful” sanctions on Tasha K.
Her lawyers claimed they had been forced to constantly monitor the blogger’s online activities because of repeated violations of the non-disparagement agreement.
What Cardi B’s legal team documented
According to the filing, Cardi’s legal team documented more than two dozen alleged violations.
They accused Tasha K of continuing a “cat and mouse” pattern despite the previous judgment and warnings.
“Debtor still believes that she is above the law, consequences, and is invulnerable,” the filing said.
Cardi’s lawyers also alleged that the blogger had publicly suggested she would resume harassment of the rapper once her debt was paid off.
Under the latest agreement, Tasha K must pay Cardi B $30,000 within 28 days of the court order.
The remaining $30,000 must be paid on or before December 31.
If she fails to make the payments on time, Cardi B can issue a written notice of default, giving the blogger five days to pay.
If Tasha K still fails to pay within that period, Cardi can return to court and seek the full award of $110,115.
The latest payment agreement adds another costly chapter to one of entertainment’s most public defamation fights.
Cardi B first sued Tasha K over false claims made about her online and won a major judgment in 2022.
Although the blogger has faced financial pressure from that case, the latest filing shows that Cardi is still ready to enforce the court’s orders if she believes the attacks have continued.
For Tasha K, the message from the court fight is becoming more expensive with every new round: the old defamation case is not over, and fresh online posts can still carry fresh consequences.
