Nigerian content creator and streamer Carter Efe has openly mocked Babcock University following the institution’s announcement that it plans to pursue legal action against him for certificate forgery.
The controversy ignited after Carter Efe claimed during an interview with popular content creator Egungun of Lagos that he graduated from the private university with a First Class Upper degree, subsequently sharing a photo of the alleged certificate on his X account.
Babcock University quickly debunked the claims, releasing an official statement confirming that the document was entirely fabricated and declaring its intention to pursue legal remedies against those responsible for the forgery. Rather than walking back his statements or addressing the serious nature of the allegations, the streamer chose to double-down on his confrontational internet persona.
“I heard that Babcock University is looking for me, you would not see me. You will pay ₦100,000 for a ticket before you could see me in Babcock and we are coming soon.” Carter Efe said.
Responding directly to the varsity’s legal warning during a recent live stream, Carter Efe appeared entirely unbothered by the threat of a lawsuit. He jokingly informed his viewers and the university authorities that he has no intention of making himself easily accessible for questioning or legal service.
Instead, he stated that the institution would have to purchase an expensive ticket just to get an audience with him, effectively turning a serious academic fraud accusation into a promotional stunt for his brand.
