Sudan’s national football coach, Kwesi Appiah, has offered advice to Nigeria’s coach, Eric Chelle, following Sudan’s 4-0 win over the home-based Super Eagles at the African Nations Championship (CHAN) on Tuesday.

The result confirmed Nigeria’s elimination from the tournament. Sudan dominated the game with two goals from Abdel Raouf, one from Walieldin Khedr, and an own goal by Nigeria’s Leonard Ngenge.

The victory puts Sudan at the top of Group D with four points from two games, while Nigeria remain at the bottom with zero points after losing both group matches.

Speaking after the game, Appiah praised the Nigerian team for showing some good football but noted their attack lacked sharpness.

“The Nigerian coach just needs to refine his attacking line a bit more,” Appiah said. “They had some good moments with the ball, but our tactics gave us the edge.”

Nigeria had lost their opening match 1-0 to Senegal, making the loss to Sudan another disappointing outing. Sudan, on the other hand, will face Senegal next in a key group game.

Nigeria’s Super Eagles B will play their final group match against Congo next Tuesday before returning home, raising questions about the future of the coaching staff and the development plan for the home-based team.
