Nigerian televangelist Pastor Chris Oyakhilome has ignited controversy by asserting that Pope Francis’s death resulted from complications related to the COVID-19 vaccine. During a recent sermon, Oyakhilome claimed that the vaccine caused blood clots leading to the Pope’s fatal stroke. He criticized the Pope’s earlier endorsement of the vaccine, stating, “He believed them and encouraged the world to take the vaccine, and he too took the vaccine. And I’m stating that the vaccine killed him.”

These remarks have drawn widespread criticism, with many highlighting the lack of medical evidence supporting such claims. Oyakhilome has previously faced backlash for promoting unverified theories, including linking 5G technology to the coronavirus pandemic.
