The Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered the temporary forfeiture of a nightclub owned by popular socialite, Pretty Mike, over allegations that the property was being used for drug storage and distribution.

Justice Musa Kakaki issued the order on Tuesday after hearing an ex parte application filed by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) through its counsel, Mr. Buhari Abdulahi.

The property, located at No. 7 Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, and known as Proxy Lagos Nightclub, was allegedly used to store and distribute 169 cylinders of nitrous oxide (commonly known as laughing gas) and 200 grams of cannabis.

According to the NDLEA, the nightclub is owned by Mike Nwalie, popularly known as Pretty Mike, and his associate, Joachim Hillary. The agency alleged that both men planned to host a large drug party at the venue.

Abdulahi told the court that the property was used as an “instrument of crime” and asked for its interim forfeiture to the Federal Government. He also requested that all business and entertainment activities at the nightclub be suspended until investigations are completed.

In an affidavit submitted to the court, NDLEA officer Nasiru Garba Bungudu said the agency received credible intelligence in October about a planned drug event at the club. Acting on the information, NDLEA operatives raided the location around midnight on October 26, 2025.

During the raid, officers seized 169 cylinders of nitrous oxide and 200 grams of cannabis. Over 200 people, including Pretty Mike and Hillary, were reportedly arrested. Tests later confirmed that the seized items were controlled substances.

The NDLEA also claimed that the nightclub had been previously linked to drug-related activities with the owner’s knowledge.

After reviewing the agency’s evidence, Justice Kakaki granted the request for interim forfeiture and ordered the suspension of all activities at the nightclub until the investigation is concluded.

The case was adjourned to January 28, 2026, for further hearing.
