Davido has once again said that he's the most criticized celebrity in Nigeria, due it to his wealthy background.
In a recent podcast appearance, Davido shared that hiding his privileged upbringing initially helped him avoid intense scrutiny.
Davido explained that he had already scored several hit songs before his background became public knowledge, which helped mitigate the potential backlash. "I already did three hit songs before they found out that my dad had money," he said.
Despite facing criticism, Davido remained focused on his music career, driven by his passion for the art. "I just wanted to do music. I didn't care if I had to become homeless. At that point, that was all I wanted to do. Nothing would stop me," he emphasized.
Davido noted that criticism is inevitable when one achieves success, comparing it to being elected president after a popular campaign. "It happens to everyone, once you become the biggest in anything, you will get criticized," he said, highlighting his perseverance in delivering quality music despite the backlash.
