The Afrobeats superstar says the staggering figure excludes Chioma’s expenses, his wider household, luxury cars and jewellery.

Nigerian music star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has revealed that maintaining his celebrity lifestyle costs him between $200,000 and $300,000 every month.

At the Central Bank of Nigeria’s latest official exchange rate of approximately N1,380 to one dollar, the figure translates to roughly N276 million to N414 million monthly.

Davido made the disclosure during a recent livestream with content creator Davrel while explaining the financial demands associated with his status as an internationally recognised entertainer.

The singer claimed the amount covered only a portion of his regular expenditure and did not include money spent on his wife, Chioma Adeleke, or other members of his household.

He added that major luxury purchases—including expensive cars and jewellery—were also excluded from the monthly estimate.

Nearly N5bn annually

If maintained consistently for 12 months, Davido’s claimed expenditure would amount to between $2.4 million and $3.6 million annually.

Using the same official exchange rate, that would equal approximately N3.3 billion to N5 billion every year—before the additional expenses he excluded.

The singer did not provide a detailed breakdown of how the money was spent or specify whether the figure included staff salaries, travel, security, accommodation or professional costs.

His comments therefore remain a personal estimate and have not been independently verified.

Davido is one of Africa’s most commercially successful musicians, with income reportedly generated through music releases, performances, endorsements and other business interests.
