Napoli midfielder Kevin De Bruyne is facing a long spell out after suffering a serious thigh injury while scoring in his team’s 3–1 win over Inter Milan.
The 34-year-old Belgian star scored a penalty in the 33rd minute but immediately grabbed his right thigh and was taken off shortly after.
He was later taken to the hospital, where scans showed a major tear in his thigh muscle. Napoli have not said how long he will be out.
De Bruyne, who joined Napoli from Manchester City on a free transfer in June, has scored four goals in eight Serie A games and made three more appearances in the Champions League this season.
