Director of Jagun Jagun Opens Up on Losing a Child After Blockbuster Shoot

In a deeply emotional interview, Tope Adebayo, co-director of the hit Nollywood epic Jagun Jagun and brother to star Femi Adebayo, has shared how the stress and intense pressure of completing the movie took a heartbreaking personal toll resulting in the loss of one of his children shortly after filming wrapped.  


Adebayo revealed that the demanding production left him under extreme stress, affecting his health and personal life. Shortly after the shoot, his family suffered the devastating loss, which he described in emotional terms, linking the strain of the creative process to the tragedy.  


He also touched on lighter moments from the film’s production including a humorous anecdote about an unnoticed megaphone appearing in a scene, discovered only at the premiere highlighting the hidden sacrifices and emotional costs behind the glamour of Nollywood’s biggest projects.
