Nigerian music producer and Mavin Records boss, Don Jazzy, has shared how he almost gave up on music after the breakup of Mo’Hits Records.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, the award-winning producer said he considered relocating abroad and quitting music altogether.
“When Mo’Hits ended, I thought that was it. I almost packed up to move abroad. But friends encouraged me to stay and start again, and Mavin Records was born. Since then, I’ve learned not to let anything break me,” he said.
Don Jazzy added that the encouragement from friends gave him the strength to keep going, leading to the birth of Mavin Records — now one of Africa’s biggest record labels.
