A dramatic and tense scene unfolded on September 7, 2025, as Naira Marley performed a concert in Cotonou, Benin Republic. In the midst of his performance, a man believed to be a fervent Mohbadsupporter suddenly raced onto the stage, grabbing at the singer and sparking chaos among security and audience alike    .

Security forces, including Naira Marley’s trusted aide Sam Larry, leapt into action. The intruder was swiftly restrained and removed from the stage, allowing the show to continue though Marley’s microphone abruptly failed, momentarily halting the performance    .

Rather than react with anger, the singer showcased his unshakeable charm reposting the viral video on X with a cheeky caption: “The moment I got attacked on stage, see baba oninu re.”

Social media erupted with debate. Some users condemned the act as a reckless intrusion; others dismissed it as a staged stunt, with comments like:

“i know a script when i see one.”  @GuyMr0

“How am I sure this is not staged too? Eh fine boy.” — @Ejigzz

This unsettling incident didn’t just shock concertgoers it reignited tensions stemming from the controversial 2023 death of Mohbad, a former signee under Marley’s label. Mohbad’s passing triggered the #Justice4MohBad movement, and the stage invasion has once again thrown Marley’s public image into the spotlight
