Renowned singer Skales has opened up about his humble beginnings, revealing that he once lived in a hut with his mother in Kaduna. In a candid segment on A TownHall Different Podcast, he painted a vivid picture of their early struggles—sleeping on mats, wrapping fabric over the floor, and having no television in the home.
He described how the turning point came when he signed with EME Records, which gave him his first TV—a moment he remembers with awe and disbelief. From those challenging days to rising in Nigeria’s music scene, Skales says the transformation is nothing short of “crazy.”
He shared:
“I’ve been through a lot … I used to live in a hut … we sleep on the floor with mats … the first time I saw TV was when EME signed me.
