Grammy-Winning Producer Sidney “Omen” Brown Dead at 49

Music world mourns the sudden loss of Sidney “Omen” Brown, the Grammy-winning producer and DJ known for his work with Beyoncé, Drake, Lil Wayne, Ludacris and others. Brown was found in his Harlem apartment on September 13, 2025, aged 49.  

His family says he appeared to be in good health, making his death especially shocking.  

Some career highlights:

•Brown produced “Tell It Like It Is” from Ludacris’ Release Therapy  the album won Best Rap Album at the 2007 Grammy Awards.  

•He co-produced Drake’s “Shut It Down” from Thank Me Later, Beyoncé’s “Mine” (featuring Drake), and worked with artists like Fabolous and Mýa.  

The cause of death has not yet been disclosed; investigations are ongoing.
