Nigerian celebrity chef, Hilda Baci, has officially received her second Guinness World Record plaque — this time for cooking the largest pot of jollof rice in the world.
Guinness World Records confirmed that Hilda prepared 8,780 kilograms (19,356 pounds) of jollof rice during her cookout event in Lagos earlier this year.
The achievement comes one year after her first record-breaking feat in May 2023, when she cooked continuously for 93 hours and 11 minutes, setting the record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.
With this new recognition, Hilda has become Nigeria’s first chef to hold two Guinness World Records, cementing her place as one of the country’s most celebrated culinary stars.
According to Guinness World Records, the jollof rice cookout was verified under strict supervision to ensure accuracy. They also confirmed that the food was shared among guests and charity groups to prevent waste.
Reacting to her achievement, Hilda expressed her excitement in a social media post.
She wrote:
“Your plaques are finally here!!! Two records. Two plaques. One story of faith, fire, and history. Twice, God showed up for me. Twice, we made history for Nigeria. And not just any records — two of the biggest culinary records ever set. Together with Gino, we created something bigger than ourselves — a story that reached over 5 billion people and reminded the world what’s possible when passion meets purpose. I’m a two-time world record holder, someone pinch me.”
Her new record has sparked excitement across social media, with many Nigerians celebrating her as a symbol of national pride and culinary excellence.
The massive pot used for the cookout was custom-built and large enough to feed thousands, showcasing Hilda’s creativity, teamwork, and determination.
