Hilda Baci kicks off Guinness world record attempt for largest pot of jollof rice

Celebrity chef Hilda Baci has officially begun her attempt to set a Guinness World Record for cooking the world’s largest pot of jollof rice, using 250 bags of rice.

The record-breaking endeavor kicked off at Eko Hotels in Lagos before a lively crowd of fans and supporters.

Before the cooking commenced, Baci and her mother shared a heartfelt moment, praying together for strength, protection, and endurance during the challenge. The emotional scene resonated with spectators, who praised her mother’s role in Baci’s journey. “This pot is squeaky clean! I washed it myself, and soon it will carry thousands of servings of Nigerian Jollof history,” Baci shared on social media.

Originally planned for Muri Okunola Park, the event was relocated to Eko Hotels due to overwhelming public interest, with over 20,000 people registering to attend the historic attempt.
