Nigerian singer Ceeza Milli has asserted that he played a significant role in discovering and fostering the talent of fellow artist Ayra Starr. During a recent interview with Yanga FM Lagos, Milli recounted how he first encountered Ayra Starr, stating that he was dating a woman who was Ayra Starr's school mother at the time.
Milli further claimed that he provided accommodation for Ayra Starr, emphasizing that her success cannot be separated from his influence. "She can’t deny my impact on her career. I discovered her at a very young age," he stated.
Ayra Starr gained prominence with her self-titled debut extended play, released in January 2021 under Mavin Records. However, Ayra Starr has previously mentioned that Don Jazzy, the head of Mavin Records, contacted her in December 2019 after finding her music on Instagram.
