Gospel singer, Victoria Orenze, has raised alarm over the growing wave of killings, terror attacks and abductions across the country, calling on Nigerians to unite against injustice and seek national repentance.

In a statement shared on her social media pages, Orenze linked recent violent incidents — including the deadly attack on a CAC church and the abduction of schoolchildren in Kebbi State — to what she described as Nigeria’s long-standing failure to address insecurity.

She referenced the 2020 Lekki Tollgate incident, saying she has refused to use the route for five years as her personal protest.

According to her, she was present on the day of the shooting and stopped using the tollgate “until justice is seen.”

“My heart bled that year and I made the decision to boycott Tollgate,” she wrote, adding that she continues to speak out and pray for deliverance from “wicked politicians and leaders who will never admit the truth.”

Orenze also criticised what she called citizens’ lack of collective action, saying many Nigerians abandon joint efforts quickly and are easily influenced by tribal sentiments or small financial gains.

“We are too selfish as citizens,” she said. “For 5,000 or 10,000 naira, broom and packer, indomie or small positions, your fellow citizen will sell you out.”

She said her five-year boycott is part of her commitment to standing against injustice and urged Nigerians to consider the sacrifices they are willing to make.

Orenze further recalled the recent attack on a CAC church livestream, saying it moved her to tears, and urged Nigerians to turn to God as insecurity worsens.

“This is a peculiar, pharaoh-like situation and only God can deliver us,” she wrote, warning that judgment awaits those who ignore repeated warnings.

She added that those she described as “part of the wicked in Nigeria” should expect consequences for their actions, stressing that she will continue to pray, speak and take action.
