Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo, has stirred conversation after revealing that her youthful glow has more to do with happiness, good sex and a mature relationship than marriage.
The 48-year-old actress made the comment during an appearance on The Morayo Show, where she dismissed the belief that a woman must be married to look happy or fulfilled.
According to her, single mothers can be happy, just as some married women are happy. She said the real issue is not marital status, but the person a woman is with.
“We single mothers are happy. I think some married women are happy too. I don’t think it’s about being single or being married,” she said.
Iyabo then linked a woman’s glow to a fulfilling sex life, adding that she is not lacking in that department.
“Sex has a lot to do with a woman’s glow. I’m getting more than enough. Maybe those with marriage certificates aren’t getting enough,” she added.
The actress also spoke about her relationship with talent manager, Paulo Okoye, describing it as one built on maturity, respect and understanding.
She said although they are both busy people with demanding careers, they make the relationship work by supporting each other and respecting their individual space.
“We fight. We have our ups and downs. It’s normal, but the most important thing is that we respect each other,” she said.
Iyabo and Paulo made their relationship public in December 2022. The actress had earlier revealed that she initially had concerns about dating him because of his links within the entertainment industry, but later became comfortable after confirming his marital status.
Her latest comment has now sparked fresh reactions online, with many Nigerians debating her bold claim that love, sex and peace of mind may be doing more for her glow than any marriage certificate.
