Nigerian reality TV star and media personality Mercy Eke has said she is ready to become a mother, even if she is not married.
Speaking in a recent interview, Eke explained that she has reached a stage in her life where she can comfortably take care of herself and even raise up to three children on her own.
She said marriage is not a priority for her at the moment because she has not yet met a man she wants to spend her life with.
“This year I wanted to have a baby, but something happened and I had to choose between that and the baby,” she said. “At this point, if I get pregnant now, I will keep my baby. I have worked so hard, and I know I can take care of myself and three kids.”
Eke added that society only criticises women who have children outside marriage when they are not financially stable or successful.
According to her, even if she chooses to have a child outside marriage, she still believes she can find the right partner when the time comes.
