American streamer and YouTube sensation, IShowSpeed, on Wednesday linked up with popular Nigerian content creator Jarvis in Lagos during his ongoing ‘Speed Does Africa’ livestream tour.
The visit coincided with a major milestone for the internet star, who celebrated hitting 50 million subscribers on his 21st birthday while in Nigeria.
Videos circulating online showed IShowSpeed, born Darren Jason Watkins Jr, hanging out with Jarvis, who appeared in her trademark robot costume. In one of the clips, Jarvis taught him the viral dance steps to the hit song ‘Money Constant’, drawing excitement from fans online.
However, the cheerful moment sharply contrasted with another viral scene involving Nigerian streamer Peller.
In a separate video, Peller — who is reportedly estranged from Jarvis — was seen being blocked by IShowSpeed’s security team while attempting to meet the American streamer for a possible collaboration. Despite repeatedly calling out and pleading, he was turned back.
Refusing to give up, Peller later made a dramatic attempt to get IShowSpeed’s attention by riding a horse and shouting his name, but he appeared to be ignored once again.
Following the incident, Peller accused members of the security team of demanding ₦1 million before granting him access to the streamer.
“Bouncer dey tell me say make I bring ₦1 million to see IShowSpeed. Imagine. Na so e dey collect money from the remaining people. You wicked oh. Una do me strong thing,” he said in a video.
Peller and Jarvis were previously in a public relationship before parting ways after an emotional fallout, a backstory that has added fuel to online reactions surrounding the incident.
