Afrobeats superstar Davido has reportedly taken a dramatic stance after his heartbreaking loss at the 68th Grammy Awards, sparking fresh controversy online and among fans worldwide.
According to sources, Davido’s camp, led by his close associate Israel DMW, has declared that the singer will no longer attend the Grammy ceremony in future years, accusing the prestigious awards body of being entrenched in “deep politics.”
The reaction came after Davido was overlooked for the Best African Music Performance category, losing out to South African singer Tyla marking another year without a Grammy win despite multiple nominations.
In a strongly worded post shared on social media, Israel DMW suggested Davido’s team felt disrespected by the outcome and would no longer “honour invitations” from the Recording Academy.
While fellow supporters have framed the loss as a sign of unfair treatment even alleging global politics at play Davido himself took a different approach online, sharing smiling photos with his wife and expressing faith and resilience even in disappointment.
The decision has stirred debate among fans and music lovers about the value of international awards versus artistic impact.
