Chelsea have booked a place in the final of the FIFA Club World Cup after beating Brazilian side Fluminense 2-0 on Tuesday night.
João Pedro was the hero for the Blues, scoring both goals in the 18th and 56th minutes at the MetLife Stadium. The Brazilian striker, who started his football journey at Fluminense, chose not to celebrate out of respect for his former club.
Chelsea dominated the game with better possession and more accurate passing. They had six shots on target and looked the better team from start to finish.
Fluminense struggled to create chances and couldn’t break through Chelsea’s solid defense. Their hopes of making a comeback faded after Chelsea’s second goal early in the second half.
Chelsea will now face the winner of the second semi-final in the final match as they aim to win the Club World Cup title once again.
