British singer Jorja Smith has sparked excitement online after teasing a new collaboration with Nigerian Afrobeats star Wizkid.

Smith posted a short video on her Instagram page on Wednesday, showing Wizkid opening a gate and stepping into a room before she walked in from behind and moved past him.

Wizkid then followed her, leaving fans to speculate about the mystery track.

Although the title of the song has not been revealed, Smith confirmed that the collaboration will be released on Thursday.

“See you tomorrow,” she wrote in the caption.

The teaser quickly drew attention from fans of both artistes, many of whom have been waiting to hear the two stars on a fresh record.

Smith, known for her smooth vocals and emotionally rich songwriting, first gained major recognition with songs such as “Blue Lights” before releasing her acclaimed debut album, Lost & Found, in 2018.

She has since become one of the leading voices in contemporary British R&B, earning international recognition, including the Brit Critics’ Choice Award.

Wizkid, born Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, remains one of Africa’s biggest music exports.

He rose to prominence with his debut album, Superstar, in 2011, and later released projects including Ayo, Sounds From The Other Side, Made In Lagos, More Love, Less Ego and Morayo.

His 2020 album, Made In Lagos, featured global names including Damian Marley, Skepta, H.E.R., Ella Mai, Burna Boy, Tems and Terri.

Wizkid also won a Grammy Award for his contribution to Beyoncé’s “Brown Skin Girl” in 2021.

The latest teaser comes shortly after Wizkid unveiled Sexy as the title of his seventh album during a pre-release listening party at Cova Club in Paris.

With Smith now confirming that the new song will arrive on Thursday, fans are waiting to see whether the mystery collaboration is a standalone single or part of Wizkid’s next album era.
