A respected businessman and philanthropist, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, has died at the age of 94.
The prominent Kano-born elder statesman passed away in the early hours of Saturday in Abuja.
His death was confirmed by his Principal Private Secretary, Mustapha Junaid, who made the announcement on Facebook.
“With a heavy heart, I announce the passing of our beloved father Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata. May Allah forgive his sins and grant him Jannatul Firdaus,” Junaid wrote.
He also mentioned that funeral details will be made available later.
Dantata was widely known for his contributions to business and humanitarian causes in Nigeria, especially in the northern region. He played a major role in developing the country’s commercial landscape and supported many community projects during his lifetime.
