Manchester City have confirmed the signing of Dutch midfielder Tijjani Reijnders from AC Milan on a five-year deal worth £46.3 million ($62.4 million).
The 26-year-old becomes City’s fourth signing in a busy week. Reijnders, who joined Milan from AZ Alkmaar in 2023, had an impressive season, scoring 15 goals in the 2024/25 campaign.
“I’m ecstatic to join Manchester City,” said Reijnders. “This is one of the best teams in the world with top players, a great coach in Pep Guardiola, and fantastic facilities.”
City had already completed deals earlier in the week for Lyon midfielder Rayan Cherki and Chelsea goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli, while Wolves left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri joined on Monday.
Reijnders is expected to strengthen City’s midfield following the departure of Kevin De Bruyne.
Club director of football Hugo Viana praised the new signing, saying: “Tijjani brings energy, calmness, and creativity. He’s played at the highest level in Europe and with the Netherlands national team. Working under Pep will help him improve even more.”
