Late Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, was honoured at the 17th Headies Awards on Sunday night. He posthumously won the Best Street-Hop Artiste award for his song “Ask About Me.”
Mohbad’s wife and young son, Liam, took to the stage to accept the award on his behalf, receiving a standing ovation from the audience. His brother, Adura, also joined them on stage.
In addition to the Best Street-Hop Artiste win, Mohbad and singer Chike won the Viewers’ Choice Award for their collaboration, “Egwu.” Mohbad also received nominations for Best Collaboration and Afrobeats Single of the Year for “Egwu.”
The event featured a special tribute to Mohbad, highlighting the strong impact he made on the music industry and the deep loss felt by his fans and colleagues.
