Hollywood actor Tim Allen has revealed that he has struggled “for over 60 years” to come to terms with his father’s tragic death and now, through a surprising source of inspiration, he says he’s found it in forgiveness.
Allen’s father died in 1964 in a car accident caused by a drunk driver when Tim was just 11 years old. The emotional burden of loss and the desire for justice have haunted him ever since.
But recently, during the memorial of Charlie Kirk, who was also fatally shot, his widow Erika Kirk made a public statement forgiving her husband’s alleged killer. Her words“That man … I forgive him” resonated deeply with Allen. He said they helped him reach a turning point in his own emotional journey.
In a message on social media, Allen shared:
“I have struggled for over 60 years to forgive the man who killed my Dad. … I will say those words now as I type: ‘I forgive the man who killed my father.’ Peace be with you all.”
This step toward forgiveness is not just personal it reflects a deeper message about healing, faith, and the power of empathy.
