Nigerian rapper Iceprince Zamani has expressed deep gratitude to veteran rapper Naeto C, acknowledging him as a major influence on his early music journey.

In an interview, Iceprince revealed how Naeto C’s 2011 album ‘Super C Season’ shaped his musical style. “That year I walked to Palmgrove bus stop, bought the ‘Super C Season’ album by King Naeto C, and played the living hell out of it. I still do, and it has the same effect on me.

One of those albums I highly recommend to rappers and musicians! I still want to be like you when I grow up, Super Naeto C,” he said.

Iceprince also admitted that his hit song ‘Juju’, produced by Jesse Jagz, was inspired by Naeto C’s track ‘Voodoo’ from the same album.

“Then I went to Jesse Jagz, played him ‘Voodoo,’ and told him I wanted to make something like that. That’s how we created ‘Juju.’ I am forever grateful for the inspiration of Super C,” he added.

Iceprince rose to prominence after being signed to Audu Maikori’s Chocolate City Records, alongside Brymo, following the earlier signings of M.I and Jesse Jagz on the label.
