The football world is reeling after the death of Marshawn Kneeland, a 24-year-old defensive end for the Dallas Cowboys.

Kneeland played 18 games across two seasons, with four starts his trajectory had fans believing this season could be his breakout.

In his final game, just days ago, he recovered a blocked punt for a touchdown a milestone he had waited for.

The Dallas franchise expressed deep sorrow: “Marshawn was a beloved teammate and member of our organization… our thoughts and prayers are with his family.”

Mental-health and support outreach are being activated across the league as part of the response to this tragic loss.
