Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday has tendered a public apology to Big Brother Naija season 10 winner, Imisioluwa Eniola Ayanwale, popularly known as Imisi, following the uproar over a personal question she asked during the reality star’s birthday party in Lagos on Tuesday.
PM News had earlier reported the incident, which saw Nkechi Blessing take the microphone and ask Imisi whether she had forgiven her mother. The question sparked visible tension among the guests and left the celebrant in tears, prompting sharp criticism from fans who felt the moment cast a shadow over the celebration.
Speaking in a follow-up video, Nkechi Blessing clarified that her question was driven by concern, not a desire for attention.
“I sincerely want to apologize to anybody who got offended with the question that I asked Imisi,” she said.
“It came from a place of personal concern. I wanted to make sure she held no regrets, as my own close relationship with my late mother has taught me the value of these moments.”
She also stressed that Imisi’s tears were tears of joy, not sadness, and that her intention was to offer emotional support rather than create controversy.
Nkechi Blessing appealed to fans, particularly Imisi’s fanbase, known as “Imistars,” to forgive her and stop dragging her online. She concluded her message by sending love and best wishes to the birthday celebrant.
