Nigerian actor and producer Olaide Olabanji has launched a scathing attack on actress Mercy Aigbe, accusing her of ingratitude and hostility despite his role in her rise to stardom in Nollywood.

Speaking in a recent interview with media personality Oyinmomo, Olabanji said his once-supportive relationship with Aigbe deteriorated after she rose to prominence in the Yoruba movie industry.

According to Olabanji, the actress now displays “wickedness” toward him, reacting with visible displeasure whenever she sees him or his picture. He also claimed that her resentment is so strong that she “wishes he were dead.”

The actor recalled how he discovered Aigbe in 2004. “I saw her in a shop in 2004 and asked her if she could act. She said yes, and I put her on. I brought Mercy Aigbe into the movie industry. I helped her,” Olabanji said.

He added that the relationship has since soured. “Now she is blocking me. To her, it is as if I should no longer exist,” he said.

Olabanji also expressed disappointment in how some women’s behavior changes after achieving fame, noting that Aigbe, once warm and approachable, now appears distant and hostile whenever they meet.
