Chelsea boosted their Premier League top-four hopes after defeating Wolves 3-1 at Molineux on Saturday, with Cole Palmer scoring a hat-trick to lead the visitors to victory.
The Blues took an early grip on the game, winning two first-half penalties which Palmer converted to put Chelsea in control. He then completed his hat-trick before halftime, capping a dominant attacking display from the west London side.
Wolves improved after the interval and pulled one back through Tolu Arokodare, but Chelsea held firm to secure the three points despite late pressure from the hosts.
Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior will take encouragement from the performance, with his side showing attacking efficiency and defensive organisation following recent cup disappointments.
The win keeps Chelsea in contention for a top-four finish, while Wolves remain in a difficult position near the relegation zone despite signs of improvement in recent matches
