Veteran Nollywood actor, Pete Edochie, has explained why Igbo men often find it difficult to succeed in Nigerian politics.

Speaking during an interview on Afia TV, the respected actor said the average Igbo man does not tolerate betrayal, which makes it hard for them to survive in a political system full of treachery.

“In politics, people are used to treachery. But the Igbo man is not constituted to condone treachery a second time,” Edochie said.

He noted that once an Igbo man feels betrayed, he tends to cut off ties completely, a trait that affects building and sustaining political alliances.

“The moment you exhibit treachery in your involvement with an Igbo man, they cut you off. That’s it,” he added.
