AC Milan’s star winger Rafael Leão has officially opened the door to a high-profile transfer this summer by publicly declaring his desire for a fresh professional challenge. The 26-year-old Portugal international revealed his eagerness to move on from Italian football, explicitly naming England’s Premier League and Spain’s LaLiga as his dream destinations. The timing of his declaration lines up perfectly with reports indicating that the Rossoneri management is actively prepared to consider substantial financial offers for the forward ahead of the upcoming season.  

Leão has established himself as one of Europe’s most dynamic wide attackers since completing his €50 million transfer to San Siro from French side LOSC Lille in August 2019. Over his seven-year spell in Italy, the explosive forward has played a central role in the club’s frontline, accumulating 80 goals across 291 total appearances for AC Milan.

Speaking during an exclusive interview with SportTV, Leão didn’t hide his fascination with alternative top-flight European leagues. He emphasized that both the English and Spanish domestic competitions possess tactical styles that are perfectly suited to maximizing his specific individual strengths on the pitch.

Despite his undoubted talent, the winger is coming off a comparatively quiet 2025–26 campaign where he managed just 13 goal involvements (10 goals and 3 assists) across all competitions. With AC Milan ready to listen to market offers and several elite clubs in need of left-sided attacking reinforcement, Leão’s public request is expected to spark an intense bidding war among Europe’s wealthiest clubs in the weeks ahead.
