Barcelona claimed the 2026 Spanish Super Cup title after edging Real Madrid 3–2 in a pulsating final played on Sunday at the Alinma Bank Stadium, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Brazilian winger Raphinha was the hero, scoring twice as Barcelona secured back-to-back Super Cup titles and their 16th triumph in the competition.

The winger opened the scoring in the 36th minute, drilling a low shot into the corner after being set up by Fermín López.

The match exploded in first-half stoppage time with three goals in quick succession. Vinícius Júnior levelled for Real Madrid in the 47th minute after a fine solo run, but Robert Lewandowski restored Barcelona’s lead moments later, clipping the ball in off the post.

Real Madrid hit back almost immediately as Gonzalo García bundled home after a goalmouth scramble to make it 2–2 at half-time.

Raphinha sealed the win in the 73rd minute, floating his effort beyond the Real Madrid goalkeeper to hand Barcelona the trophy.

Tension rose late in the game when Frenkie de Jong was shown a straight red card in stoppage time for a reckless challenge on substitute Kylian Mbappé.

Despite late pressure from Real Madrid, including missed chances by Marcus Rashford and Raúl Asencio, Barcelona held on to complete the victory.

The win handed Hansi Flick his first silverware of 2026 and extended Barcelona’s winning run to 10 matches, underlining their dominance over Spanish opposition this season.

Barcelona now sit four points clear of Real Madrid at the top of La Liga, strengthening their grip on the domestic title race.
